For more than 50 years, Runnymede has been hosting some of the art world’s most eclectic and diverse speakers, from the established to the cutting edge, all in an informal and friendly atmosphere.

Whether it is Grayson Perry or Charles Dickens, the Runnymede programme is as diverse as it is fascinating. Runnymede’s aim is to spark enthusiasm in even the most sceptical visitor, prompting members to delve deeper into the subject. Started in the early days of NADFAS (now known as AS), Runnymede was the 23rd to be opened and helped to pioneer what is now a 365-strong international organisation.

Lectures are never dull – acclaimed AS-accredited speakers from the world of television and academia bring the artistic world to life. There’s no waiting list, the first taster lecture is free and the group always welcomes new faces. Just turn up and look for our 'Welcome Desk' (Click Where We Meet to find details)

Runnymede offers far more than the monthly programme: an annual special interest day; visits to places of interest, including the theatre; and current volunteer projects. Alongside 17 fellow societies, Runnymede also helps to make up the West Surrey Area grouping, working together to arrange larger bespoke events.

We are pleased to welcome new members to our Society, at any time of the year. Just turn up (click - Where We Meet to find details) and look for our 'Welcome Desk'.

The Arts Society Runnymede is proud to have been involved in many projects over the past few years.

As well as benefitting the various venues, it has enhanced our members' experience of our society, fellowship and gaining new skills which many had no idea they had a talent for! A wonderful way to meet new friends. No special skills required. All welcome.

Cumberland Lodge Windsor Great Park - Handover of the Inventory of Art took place on 27th June 2024

The Royal School in Windsor Great Park - project completed

All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park - a church recording project.
